The Maolin National Scenic Area covers Maolin Township, Taoyuan Township and Liouguei Township of Kaohsiung County and Sandimen Township, Wutai Township and Majia Township of Pingtung County. There are prosperous geologic topographies, ecological dispersion, cultures and material resource that have potential values of making academic researches, civilian tours extension and international touring business.

The Maolin National Scenic Area Administration was built on Oct 2, 2001; we are dedicating to sustain the natural cultural features of this Area, expecting to hold a sustainable operation on this Area’s existed touring resource and positively develop touring packages; in addition, we also plan and perform featured touring activities and anticipate to boost the development of this Area’s touring business, in the prospect of attracting more international tourists visiting this Area.

To achieve the aforesaid objectives, the first work is to assist the touring vendors in this Area upgrading their service level; and to do it we combine the public and private resources to hold training program to elevate the capability and quality of touring vendors in serving international visitors. We assist the private to develop high-quality and characteristic hostel and increase the attracting capability of recreation. On the other side, we make endeavor in upgrading touring quality and developing exclusive touring features that offer tourists the experience of recreation amusement, cultural exploration and ecological study.
