Xiaopu Community is located in the northwest of Puli Town and was the main activity area for the Meifu tribe in the early days. When Han Chinese entered Puli during the Qing Dynasty, conflicts with the indigenous people occurred, leading to the Guo Bai Nian Incident and the killing of a large number of indigenous people. After the incident, the indigenous people were brought together with the Pingpu tribe to live together, leading to a wave of reclamation. The Meifu indigenous people also gradually moved to the mountains. During the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, the policy of opening mountains and pacifying tribes was implemented, making Puli relatively safe for the Han Chinese. A large number of Hakka people entered and settled in the hills near Puli, forming settlements. Because the Hakka people were not afraid of the hardships of crossing mountains and settled in the north of Puli, a lively small market was formed over time. Standing here and looking at the Puli, which was once called Dapu Tribe, it feels like a smaller version of Dapu Tribe, and thus it was named "Xiaopu Community."

Xiaopu Community is a settlement full of historical traces, which can be glimpsed from its name.
